The Edmonton Oilers are making another goaltending change.<\/p>\n
The Oilers are on the verge of elimination on Tuesday evening after dropping three straight games to the Anaheim Ducks. The series now sits at 3-1 thanks to an Oilers victory in Game 1.<\/p>\n
While not the entire issue, one problem for the Oilers in this series has been their goaltending. They\u2019ve allowed 20 goals through four games, only one of which came on an empty net. As a result, head coach Kris Knoblauch has made some changes between the pipes.<\/p>\n
After starting the first three games of the series, Connor Ingram found himself on the bench for Game 4 in favour of Tristan Jarry. Jarry wound up kicking aside 34 of the 38 shots he faced in a 4-3 overtime loss.<\/p>\n
Though Jarry wasn\u2019t at fault in Game 4, the Oilers are once again going back to Ingram. The 29-year-old had turned into their undisputed number-one goalie down the stretch of the regular season.<\/p>\n
\u201cNothing against Jarry. I thought he had a solid game the other night,\u201d Knoblauch said earlier in the day. \u201cGoing down the last few weeks or months, Ingram\u2019s been our starter. He\u2019s been our guy. Now that our season is on the line, we felt that we would go with our guy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ingram, whom the Oilers acquired in early October, appeared in 32 games this season, posting a 2.60 GAA along with a .899 SV% and a 16-10-3 record.<\/p>\n
The goalie swap may not be the only lineup change for the Oilers tonight. They showed off new defensive pairings in practice, while up front, both Connor McDavid and Jason Dickinson have been labelled as game-time decisions<\/a>.<\/p>\n
