Patch 35.2.2 rolls out today with balance updates for Hearthstone and Battlegrounds.<\/p>\n

Hearthstone Updates<\/p>\n

Dev Comment: Well met! We\u2019re happy with where the metagame is right now, with a wide mix of competitive classes and archetypes seeing play. Because things are generally in a good spot, this patch is intentionally small and focused on making light adjustments to a few of the stronger decks. With our new Class Sets<\/a> arriving in Patch 35.4, we want to take some time to see how they shake things up before making any bigger adjustments.<\/p>\n

Battlegrounds Updates<\/p>\n

Dev Comment: We hope you have been enjoying the new season. This patch is primarily focused on smoothing out some early over- and under-performing cards. Most of the minion changes target individual outliers, but we also took the opportunity to buff Dragons and Undead while reining in Elementals.<\/p>\n

There are two specific cards we want to call out: Ship Jumper and Back to Back.<\/p>\n

Ship Jumper can be a fun build-around card and enables some high-level pivots, but it has also been showing up a bit too often and could feel frustrating to face. We changed it from a Deathrattle to a Rally to significantly reduce its power ceiling while still preserving interesting combat decisions.<\/p>\n

Back to Back was not a major power outlier in most situations, but when combined with Balinda Stonehearth it could create some really wild boards. We changed the spell to grant its stats all at once and to scale more slowly with Tavern Spell buffs. We still expect the strategy to be powerful in the right situations, but more in line with other playstyles.<\/p>\n

For Trinkets, our changes focus on smoothing out their overall power so there’s less variance between choices. We also removed a few low pick-rate Trinkets to keep selections more compelling.<\/p>\n

We will continue to monitor the meta and expect to make further adjustments once these changes have time to settle. We’ll see you in the Tavern!<\/p>\n
