Carrie Underwood has revealed that her home life on a Tennessee farm can be both \u201cfrustrating\u201d and \u201cexciting\u201d after taking a step back from the Hollywood spotlight to focus on her family<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cMy goal is to just do as much as I can myself,\u201d she told Us Weekly<\/a> during a break from \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d on Monday. \u201cI love it. Instagram\/Carrie Underwood<\/p>\n The \u201cBefore He Cheats\u201d singer, 43, went on to describe her life on the farm as the \u201cpolar opposite\u201d of her life as an \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d judge<\/a> and country music superstar.<\/p>\n \u201cI go home, and I had to have talks with my family at one point, because I was like, \u2018OK, when I\u2019m away, I\u2019m like, Cinderella at the ball.\u2019 I\u2019m a princess, and it\u2019s great,\u201d Underwood explained.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd then I come home, and I\u2019m like, covered in dirt. I\u2019m covered in poop. It\u2019s just the polar opposite,\u201d she continued. \u201cI\u2019m like, cleaning up after everybody and barefoot in the kitchen. But I wouldn\u2019t have it any other way.\u201d<\/p>\n Underwood moved to her 400-acre farm just outside Nashville with her retired NHL star husband, Mike Fisher, and their two sons, Isaiah, 11, and Jacob, 7, in 2019.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a challenge, and it\u2019s frustrating, and it\u2019s exciting, and it\u2019s rewarding, and just all the things,\u201d Underwood (pictured here at her Tennessee farm) said. CBS via Getty Images<\/p>\n But it isn\u2019t just Underwood and her family on the farm, because they also raise livestock on the 400-acre property.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know, I love our chickens,\u201d the \u201cCowboy Casanova\u201d singer told Fox News Digital<\/a> last week. \u201cWe have cows, we have sheep, we have donkeys. We have horses.\u201d<\/p>\n She added, \u201cI have my garden, and it\u2019s a great way to connect with the earth.
