One man is dead and a second wounded after a shooting in Surrey Tuesday evening (April 28) \u2013 marking Surrey\u2019s eighth homicide of 2026.<\/p>\n
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the investigation after a shooting in the 6800-block of 148 Street in Newton left one man dead and a second suffering from minor injuries.<\/p>\n
Surrey Police Service officers responded to reports of shots fired into a vehicle at about 6:55 p.m., an SPS press release says.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, SPS officers found a man apparently suffering from gunshot wounds. BCEHS and Surrey Fire Services attended, and the man was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
A second victim, another man, was found at the scene and transported to hospital with injuries that are reported to be minor.<\/p>\n
No arrests have been made, and at this early stage there is no suspect information available to share, police said on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n
