The UFC has said they are going to increase security<\/a> for UFC 328<\/a> in Newark on May 9th, but are they going to increase it enough?<\/p>\n

That\u2019s a very serious question given the hot-headed temperament of both Khamzat Chimaev and Sean Strickland. And if a brawl breaking out during fight week wasn\u2019t a big enough concern, now Strickland is promising he\u2019ll bring a gun to a fist fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s already talking about, if you guys run into each other, he\u2019ll have his friends with him and you won\u2019t have any,\u201d The Mac Life\u2019s Oscar Willis reminded Strickland during a new interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll I\u2019m gonna do, I\u2019ll pull my gun out of my shoe,\u201d Strickland replied. \u201cIf [Chimaev] were to come up to me like a man and say, \u2018You know what, Sean? You said some things about my dad [Ramzan] Kadyrov.\u2019<\/a> And I\u2019m like, well you know what dude? You wh–ed yourself out, not me. \u2018I wanna settle this.\u2019 I would say \u2018Let\u2019s settle this like men.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut if you come up to me with three f–king Chechens that don\u2019t speak English, I\u2019m gonna pull my gun and I\u2019m gonna shoot each and every one of you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sean Strickland has always pushed the UFC\u2019s \u2018free speech\u2019 policy to the limit, and recently had his presser mic turned off<\/a> following his big UFC Houston win when he started calling Khamzat Chimaev a \u2018goat f–ker,\u2019 an insult Strickland has used so frequently in the build up to UFC 328 that it\u2019s impossible to write an honest article about their feud without mentioning it.<\/p>\n

And now he\u2019s threatening to shoot his opponent? This has gotten way out of hand.<\/p>\n

The UFC will do its best to avoid a mass shooting perpetrated by one of the headliners of its big Newark card by keeping the fighters at separate hotels and limiting the number of promotional interactions before May 9th.
