{"id":636472,"date":"2026-04-29T13:31:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T13:31:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/636472\/"},"modified":"2026-04-29T13:31:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T13:31:13","slug":"falcon-transportation-resumes-daily-transit-to-calgary-amid-loss-of-service-highriveronline-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/636472\/","title":{"rendered":"Falcon Transportation resumes daily transit to Calgary amid loss of service &#8211; HighRiverOnline.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/falconbus.ca\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Falcon Transportation<\/a>\u00a0is renewing\u00a0transit\u00a0services\u00a0between\u00a0Okotoks\u00a0and\u00a0Calgary.\u00a0The transportation company\u00a0temporarily\u00a0suspended\u00a0operations\u00a0a few months ago\u00a0due to low\u00a0ridership, but\u00a0will\u00a0reopen\u00a0following the announcement of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/articles\/on-it-transit-to-be-discontinued-in-okotoks\" rel=\"nofollow\">On-It transit<\/a>\u00a0discontinuing service.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Merc Dogan,\u00a0co-owner of Falcon, said\u00a0the 14-passenger service\u00a0will\u00a0resume daily transportation\u00a0on\u00a0May\u00a01.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a couple customers who already bought tickets for a whole month,\u201d Dogan\u00a0said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Filling the gap\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dogan is originally from\u00a0Turkey\u00a0while his business partner is from Ukraine. He said transportation between cities in both countries is far more accessible, with reliable daily commuter services.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can have easy access to the major cities without any problem,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They\u00a0identified\u00a0that the Okotoks and Cochrane communities could\u00a0benefit\u00a0from a daily transit service. However, after\u00a0running the service for about six months, they temporarily shut down\u00a0due to low demand.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With the incoming gap left by the discontinuation of On-It&#8217;s daily service, Dogan said they want to try running the route again.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Related Stories:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe already\u00a0tried\u00a0once. We know\u00a0the process, the route,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Having suspended the service once before, he is concerned the route might not take off. However, he said the community is reaching out and showing them that the service is needed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Between Okotoks, Cochrane, and Calgary, Falcon plans to run nine trips in total.
