The CAQ government sought to reassure the public on Wednesday regarding delays in cancer treatment caused by the rollout of the Digital Health Record (DSN), the digital transformation initiative led by Sant\u00e9 Qu\u00e9bec, initially in two regions: North of the Island of Montreal and Mauricie and Central Quebec.<\/p>\n
Quebecor media outlets reported on Wednesday comments from a doctor who noted a decline in patient numbers due to the DSN in Drummondville.<\/p>\n
In a technical briefing last week, Sant\u00e9 Qu\u00e9bec had indicated that a decline in activity was to be expected for a few weeks, while adding that urgent or \u201cimportant\u201d activities, such as oncology or emergency care, would not be affected.<\/p>\n
When asked whether there were delays in treatment, Health Minister Sonia B\u00e9langer replied that doctors would continue to rely on their clinical judgment, without providing further details.<\/p>\n
For her part, Treasury Board President France-\u00c9laine Duranceau relied on Sant\u00e9 Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s assessment, which assures that there will be no issues for patients.<\/p>\n
