{"id":638188,"date":"2026-04-30T08:23:17","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T08:23:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/638188\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T08:23:17","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T08:23:17","slug":"2024-caledon-homicide-second-suspect-arrested","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/638188\/","title":{"rendered":"2024 Caledon homicide: second suspect arrested"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A Toronto man has been charged in connection with the 2024 murder of a 65-year-old man in Caledon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The man, identified as 42-year-old Piotr Olszewski, is the second suspect arrested by Ontario Provincial Police in the death of Melancthon resident David Robson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Olszewski has been charged with arson and accessory after the fact to murder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cp24.com\/local\/peel\/2026\/04\/28\/caledon-homicide-investigation-ends-in-arrest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.cp24.com\/local\/peel\/2026\/04\/28\/caledon-homicide-investigation-ends-in-arrest\/\">On Tuesday,<\/a> OPP announced that 29-year-old Jacek Trela of Mississauga was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder, arson and indignity to a body.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The arrests come two years after Robson was found dead in the area of Chinguacousy Road and King Street on the morning of April 1, 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The cause of his death was later determined as homicide. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Before he was found, Robson and his black 2017 Kia Sportage were reported missing on March 25, 2024.
