A company with long-standing ties to Brampton is stepping up its support for the city\u2019s long-awaited second hospital.<\/p>\n
Primont Homes has donated $2.5 million to the William Osler Health System Foundation, calling it one of the most significant philanthropic commitments in the company\u2019s 50-year history.<\/p>\n
The family-owned builder says the contribution is a major increase from its initial $200,000 pledge, first announced at Hockey Night in Brampton in August 2025, and reflects an expanded commitment to the William Osler Health System and the future of health care in the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cPhilanthropy runs in our blood. Our father always taught us that if you\u2019re fortunate enough to build in a community, you have a responsibility to give back to it,\u201d said Joe Montesano, Principal at Primont Homes. \u201cWhen we build homes, we\u2019re building communities \u2014 but communities need more than houses. They need strong infrastructure, and health care is one of the most important pieces. Supporting Brampton\u2019s second hospital is about making sure families have access to the care they need, close to home, for generations to come.\u201d<\/p>\n
The funds will support the transformation of the Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness into Brampton\u2019s second hospital, including a new emergency department, expanded outpatient services, and increased capacity to serve a growing population.<\/p>\n
According to the foundation, donations like this are critical because local communities are responsible for funding 100 per cent of medical equipment and 10 per cent of construction costs for hospital projects.<\/p>\n

Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown said the donation will help address long-standing gaps in local health care.<\/p>\n
