Visitors to the Nice C\u00f4te d’Azur Airport, and the Die Neue Sammlung design museum, will spy an unusual seating surface: This SurfBench<\/a>, whose linked seat slats react to the sitter’s motions.<\/p>\n

The bench was the diploma project of Kim Andr\u00e9 Lange, during his time as an Industrial Design student at Germany’s Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design<\/a>. After gaining his degree Lange set up a company, KALD, and found a production partner for the bench in Italy.<\/p>\n
