Emily Blunt<\/a> and Stanley Tucci continued their relentless press tour for The Devil Wears Prada 2<\/a> with an interview<\/a> on the Betches YouTube channel on Tuesday, where Blunt took a moment to dole out some career advice. In the video, Blunt reflected on one of her famous lines from the first movie \u2014 where she repeatedly mutters \u201cI love my job, I love my job\u201d \u2014 before a producer asked if she had \u201cany tips for girls who are hating their jobs right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cQuit \u2026 no,\u201d Blunt replied jokingly before pivoting to a more earnest answer. \u201cLook, I think just find something that you deeply want to do,\u201d she said. \u201cEven if you\u2019re earning no money, as long as you love it, you\u2019ll be happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

As you can probably guess, this is not the pro tip people really want to hear from a multimillionaire movie star. A clip of her answer circulated online, where people accused her of being out of touch for not considering that people might need to keep terrible jobs to stay afloat. \u201cThen who is going to pay my rent Emily,\u201d one person tweeted<\/a>. \u201cThat light bill is gonna get paid with hopes and dreams,\u201d someone else wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In fairness, I\u2019m not sure there\u2019s a better way Blunt could have answered this question. She\u2019s been acting since she was 18, and I don\u2019t think she has any tips for search-engine optimizing your LinkedIn page. Maybe we could have avoided this whole thing if we really kept to the spirit of the DWP2 press tour, which has consisted mostly of cerulean Old Navy merch and special Starbucks drinks. What does Meryl Streep think of Target\u2019s DWP tees? <\/a>What did Anne Hathaway talk about with Lady Gaga? These are the pressing questions we need to be asking.<\/p>\n
