Vanderbilt (17-12, 5-9 SEC) and Notre Dame (21-7, 9-4 ACC) last met in 2019, a contest that also came in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The black and gold snatched a 4-3 match win, which remains the team\u2019s most recent tournament victory. Overall, the all-time series between the two schools sits even at 2-2. Vanderbilt\u2019s 2019 takedown remains the only neutral site victory in the matchup\u2019s history.<\/p>\n
The Dores enter Friday\u2019s matchup after suffering a 4-2 loss to No. 10 Texas A&M in the second round of the 2026 SEC Men\u2019s Tennis Championship. Vandy remains in the ITA individual rankings across both singles and doubles play, led by the duo of senior Nathan Cox and freshman Hoyoung Roh at No. 13. Sophomore Pablo Martinez Gomez stays as the highest-ranked singles player on the team at No. 72 and is joined by No. 97 Hoyoung to round out the black and gold.<\/p>\n
Notre Dame makes its way to Champaign following a 4-1 defeat at the hands of No. 4 Virginia in the ACC Tournament. The Fighting Irish have three separate pairs ranked in doubles: No. 50 Perry Gregg and Sebastian Dominko, No. 73 Dominko and Peter Nad as well as No. 79 Nad and Luis Llorens Saracho. Dominko also leads Notre Dame in the singles rankings at No. 20, followed by Gregg at No. 69.<\/p>\n
