Interior Cabinet Kipchumba Murkomen has threatened to admit former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to a mental hospital should he fail to record a statement on his claims about the government\u2019s support of the Al-Shabaab militia group.<\/p>\n

Gachagua stirred controversy during his recent tour of the United States after claiming that senior Kenyan officials, including President William Ruto, have held secret meetings with members of the Al-Shabaab militia group.<\/p>\n

Gachagua claims that President Ruto met with three Al-Shabaab operatives in Mandera at night to discuss \u201cillegal business deals\u201d.<\/p>\n

The former DP also accused President Ruto\u2019s government of funding Sudan\u2019s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and further linking it to the broader regional instability.<\/p>\n

The DCP Party leader also vowed to help the American Senate, which he claims is currently investigating these investigations, while strongly rejecting any help to Kenyan authorities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe cannot help in any investigations because the Kenyan government has not initiated any investigations against William Ruto. The people who have initiated the investigation are the American Senate, so if there is a need for us to help in investigations, we will help the American Senate, not the Kenyan government.\u201d<\/p>\n

Strong Warning to Kindiki<\/p>\n

Gachagua has also lashed out at his successor, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, cautioning him against \u201cselling fear\u201d to him with threatening words.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is the same CS [Kindiki] who, when 5 chiefs were abducted by Al-Shabaab, said they would negotiate to have them released. How can you negotiate with people you do not know?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kenyan Leaders Response<\/p>\n

In his response, Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen has demanded that Rigathi Gachagua record a formal statement with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) immediately upon returning to Kenya.<\/p>\n

Murkomen accused Gachagua of politicizing national security for personal gain, saying that Gachagua is parading issues of terrorism in the United States to get votes.<\/p>\n

Murkomen also added that Gachagua must provide specific details about the alleged meetings with Al-Shabaab operatives.<\/p>\n

Failure to record a statement, CS Murkomen added, the government will admit Gachagua to a mental institution for mental assessment, citing a possible mental case.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is either he is a pathological liar, or he has a mental case. There is no danger to testing him because his level of contradiction is really high and it might be stress of losing a top government position.\u201d<\/p>\n

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki echoed CS Murkomen\u2019s statements, saying that anyone with such important information must record a statement with the relevant agencies so that investigations can be conducted.<\/p>\n

He warned against\u00a0underestimating terrorism, stressing that Kenya has suffered greatly from such attacks and that national security should not be used for political leverage.<\/p>\n

The DP reaffirmed his loyalty to President William Ruto, pledging to serve him with utmost dedication as the leader and President of the Republic of Kenya.<\/p>\n

The Pastoralists Community Professional Association (PCPA) also condemned Gachagua\u2019s remarks as reckless and defamatory, accusing him of reviving ethnic profiling against Somali Kenyans.<\/p>\n
