The Magnetic Fields<\/a>\u2019 Stephen Merritt and Fleet Foxes<\/a>\u2019 Robin Pecknold appeared on the East Village Radio show \u201cElia Vs<\/a>.\u201d today (April 30) to chat with host Elia Einhorn and play a few songs. They also performed The Magnetic Fields\u2019 classic \u201cBook Of Love\u201d together live. Check it out below, and listen to the full episode here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cBook Of Love\u201d originally appeared on Merritt\u2019s 1999 album 69 Love Songs<\/a>, which was reissued on vinyl in 2010 and 2015 and also inspired the 2024 Broadway musical All In: Comedy About Love by Simon Rich<\/a>. Merritt celebrated the album\u2019s 25th anniversary in 2024 with a series of shows<\/a> where he played the LP in full alongside its original performers, Sam Davol, Claudia Gonson, Shirley Simms, and John Woo. The Magnetic Fields\u2019 most recent album, Quickies<\/a>, came out in 2020.<\/p>\n

Fleet Foxes\u2019 last album, Shore<\/a>, also arrived in 2020. Since then, Pecknold has kept busy, releasing<\/a> multiple<\/a> singles<\/a>, recording an NPR Tiny Desk<\/a> concert, and dropping a live album<\/a>. In February, he announced a four-date solo tour<\/a> with opener Allegra Krieger<\/a>, which will see him traverse the East Coast before closing things out with a Judee Sill<\/a> tribute show in New York.<\/p>\n
