\n\tAmy Allen<\/a>, who in February became the first two-time Grammy winner for songwriter of the year, non-classical, added to her laurels on Thursday (April 30), winning ASCAP pop songwriter of the year at the 2026 ASCAP Pop Music Awards in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

\n\tAllen, 34, co-wrote five of ASCAP\u2019s most-performed songs of the past year \u2013 \u201cAPT.\u201d (ROS\u00c9<\/a> & Bruno Mars<\/a>), \u201cHigh Road\u201d (Koe Wetzel<\/a> & Jessie Murph<\/a>) and three Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> hits (\u201cTears,\u201d \u201cManchild\u201d and \u201cBed Chem\u201d).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAPT.\u201d and \u201cManchild\u201d were both nominated for song of the year at this year\u2019s Grammys. Another Allen co-write, \u201cPlease Please Please,\u201d was nominated in that category in 2025.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDie with a Smile\u201d was named the ASCAP pop music song of the year. Co-written by ASCAP songwriter James Fauntleroy<\/a> and published by Warner Chappell Music, the Lady Gaga<\/a>\/Bruno Mars<\/a> collab spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100<\/a> and 60 weeks on chart \u2014 a longer chart run than any other single by either artist. It also topped Billboard\u2019s year-end Hot 100, becoming the first duet<\/a> by a female and male soloist each in lead roles to do so in the chart\u2019s 67-year history.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDie With a Smile\u201d received a Grammy nod for song of the year. Fauntleroy won in that Grammy category in 2018 for cowriting an earlier Mars smash, \u201cThat\u2019s What I Like.\u201d Fauntleroy, 41, is a four-time Grammy winner.<\/p>\n

\n\tASCAP Pop Music Publisher of the Year went to Sony Music Publishing. Its winning hits include songs written and recorded by ASCAP members such as \u201cBlue Strips\u201d (Jessie Murph), \u201cFolded\u201d (Kehlani<\/a>), \u201cIt\u2019s OK I\u2019m OK\u201d (Tate McRae<\/a>), \u201cMan I Need\u201d (Olivia Dean<\/a>), \u201cMessy\u201d (Lola Young<\/a>), \u201cMutt\u201d (Leon Thomas<\/a>), \u201cOrdinary\u201d (Alex Warren<\/a>) and \u201cPink Pony Club\u201d (Chappell Roan<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\n\tAs previously announced<\/a>, Laufey<\/a> received the ASCAP Creative Voice Award. The award recognizes ASCAP members \u201cwhose significant career achievements are informed by their creative spirit and their contributions to the role that a creator can play in the community.\u201d Previous winners include Questlove<\/a>, Wyclef Jean<\/a> and Lyle Lovett<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe award was presented by Suki Waterhouse<\/a>, the British singer\/songwriter, actress and model who was the opening act on the North American leg of Laufey\u2019s A Matter of Time tour. Laufey received the award one night after she picked up the Innovator Award at the Billboard Women in Music event, which was held at the Hollywood Palladium.<\/p>\n

\n\tLaufey, 27, also won a Grammy earlier this year, when A Matter of Time was named best traditional pop vocal album. It was her second win in that category. Her previous album Bewitched took the honor in 2024.<\/p>\n

\n\tOther 2026 ASCAP Pop Music Award-winning songwriters include Jack Antonoff (\u201cManchild,\u201d \u201cluther,\u201d \u201csquabble up,\u201d \u201ctv off\u201d), EJAE (\u201cGolden\u201d), Cirkut (\u201cAbracadabra,\u201d \u201cAPT.\u201d), Justin Bieber (\u201cDAISES,\u201d \u201cYUKON\u201d), Max Martin (\u201cThe Fate of Ophelia,\u201d \u201cDancing in the Flames,\u201d \u201cOpalite,\u201d \u201cTwilight Zone\u201d), Myles Smith (\u201cNice to Meet You\u201d), Ashley Gorley (\u201cLove Somebody\u201d), Audrey Hobert (\u201cThat\u2019s So True\u201d), Daniel Nigro (\u201cPink Pony Club\u201d), David Guetta (\u201cForever Young\u201d), Dijon \u201cMustard\u201d McFarlane (\u201ctv off\u201d) and Timbaland (\u201cSticky\u201d).<\/p>\n

\n\tThe ASCAP Pop Music Awards honor the songwriters and publishers of the most-performed ASCAP pop songs of 2025. The winning songs are determined by data for terrestrial and satellite radio and for programmed and on-demand audio streams, all provided by Luminate Data LLC in accordance with ASCAP\u2019s publicly available rules.<\/p>\n
