The Civic Memorial Eagles grabbed a 4-0 halftime lead and went on to hand Jersey a 7-0 Mississippi Valley Conference shutout Thursday at Hauser Field.<\/p>\n
Freshman Allie Kamp\u00a0 and sophomore Landree Wallace each scored a pair of goals for the Eagles, who ran their overall record on\u00a0 the season to 6-8. In he conference, CM is 4-2. Jersey is 4-13 overall and 0-8 in the Valley.<\/p>\n
Delaney Griffin opened the scoring for CM in the sixth minute, assisted by Sara Aiello. Seven minutes later, Wallace scored from a Griffin assist to make it 2-0.<\/p>\n
In the 20th minute, Aielo scored, assisted by Griffin. Then in the 26th minute, Kamp scored, assisted by Kynlee Barnett to make it 4-0 at halftime.<\/p>\n
In the second half, Gabrielle Hartsck scored in the 46th minute, assisted by Griffin. Then griffin assisted Wallace a minute later to make it 6-0.<\/p>\n
Kamp’s second goal, assisted by Morgan Wimberly, capped the scoring in the 69th minute.<\/p>\n
“It was a great team effort tonight,” CM coach Eric Zyung said. “The girls really connected passes. they showed\u00a0great patience and great finishing.:”<\/p>\n
