The Montreal Canadiens<\/a> and Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a> continue to trade chances at a high rate, but Game 6 remains scoreless after the second period on Friday night.<\/p>\n

The Canadiens lead the best-of-seven series 3-2 and can advance to the second round with a victory.<\/p>\n

The Lightning began the second period shorthanded thanks to a high sticking penalty taken by Jake Guentzel<\/a> at the 19:49 mark of the opening frame.<\/p>\n

The visitors were able to successfully kill what was the first infraction of the game.<\/p>\n

Phillip Danault<\/a> kept the game scoreless for the Canadiens early in the second period when he cleared a puck off the goal line after it slipped through goaltender Jakub Dobes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Alexandre Texier<\/a> was the first Canadiens player sent to the box after he took a high sticking penalty at 6:14.<\/p>\n

The penalty kill did not allow a shot on goal as they were able to keep the game scoreless, shorthanded.<\/p>\n

Lightning defenceman Charle-Edouard D\u2019Astous took a slashing penalty at the 16:54 mark of the period.<\/p>\n

Ivan Demidov<\/a> was turned away twice on the doorstep by Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy<\/a>, who turned in a pair of point-blank saves to help the penalty kill.<\/p>\n

Dobes has made 16 saves through 40 minutes for the Canadiens.<\/p>\n

Vasilevskiy has stopped all 17 shots through the opening two periods for the Lightning.<\/p>\n

If the Canadiens are victorious in Game 6, they will advance to face the winner of the series between the Buffalo Sabres<\/a> and Boston Bruins<\/a>.<\/p>\n
