The Tempo were playing their second game of the pre-season after falling to the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday in Toronto.<\/p>\n
On Friday, Elizabeth Balogun paced the Tempo’s offence with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting. The rookie forward also knocked down two of her three shots from behind the three-point arc.<\/p>\n
First-round pick Kiki Rice also reached double-digits in the loss, dropping 10 points while taking seven shots.<\/p>\n
The Tempo scored 21 points in the second quarter to take a one-point lead into halftime, but only shot 15.4 per cent from three in the second half as the Lynx were able to lock down defensively.<\/p>\n
Chechova did most of her work offensively in the second half, scoring 12 points, grabbing three rebounds and blocking two shots.<\/p>\n
With the win, Minnesota improved to 3-0 on the pre-season.<\/p>\n
