{"id":643758,"date":"2026-05-02T21:08:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T21:08:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/643758\/"},"modified":"2026-05-02T21:08:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T21:08:14","slug":"2-critically-hurt-in-scarborough-crash-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/643758\/","title":{"rendered":"2 critically hurt in Scarborough crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two people, including a teen, were seriously injured following a crash in Scarborough. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Emergency crews in Scarborough are investigating a serious two-vehicle crash that left one driver with life-threatening injuries late Friday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In a news release, Toronto police say the collision happened at about 11:15 p.m. in the Lawrence Avenue East and Markham Road area.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1777756094_122_7P3YJB2XWVEIBBRQNSGJXVNUMU.jpeg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"450\"\/>CRASH Emergency crews investigating two-vehicle crash involving a man in his 40s and a teenage boy late Friday night (CP24 photo). <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Investigators say an 18-year-old man driving a white 2018 Toyota Camry was travelling westbound on Lawrence Avenue East when it collided with a grey 2015 Lexus ES 300 being driven eastbound by a 36-year-old man who was attempting to turn left into a plaza.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police say the Lexus driver was ejected from the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The 36-year-old driver of the Lexus was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1777756094_632_LPSAMNFZQZCCBHTV7LDCLEII4E.jpeg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"450\"\/>CRASH Emergency crews investigating two-vehicle crash involving a man in his 40s and a teenage boy late Friday night (CP24 photo). <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The 18-year-old Toyota driver was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Traffic officials are leading the investigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police are asking residents, businesses and drivers who may have security camera or dashcam footage of the area or incident to contact investigators.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Two people, including a teen, were seriously injured following a crash in Scarborough.
