Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> manager John Schneider said that George Springer<\/a> is doing OK and there is \u201cno new fracture\u201d after the outfielder left Saturday\u2019s game against the Minnesota Twins<\/a> in the third inning after being hit on the left foot.<\/p>\n

He\u2019ll be sore as hell and this surely doesn\u2019t help his original fracture, which he\u2019s been playing through, but the #BlueJays<\/a> avoided worse news.<\/p>\n

It was the same left foot that kept Springer out for most of April, and Springer appeared to take Saturday\u2019s beanball from Twins starter Connor Prielipp<\/a> directly on his fractured toe. He stayed down for a while before gingerly making his way off the field and into the dugout in obvious pain.<\/p>\n

Springer was originally injured in a game against the Twins on April 11 in Toronto after fouling a pitch off his left toe, which resulted in a fracture. He returned this week against the Boston Red Sox<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The 36-year-old Springer was 0-for-1 with the hit-by-pitch before leaving Saturday\u2019s game. He came into the matchup slashing .215\/.301\/.369 with two home runs and seven RBI in 17 games so far this season.<\/p>\n

The Blue Jays will wrap up their four-game set against the Twins on Sunday afternoon before heading to Tampa to take on the Rays for the first time this year.<\/p>\n
