{"id":643850,"date":"2026-05-02T22:15:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T22:15:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/643850\/"},"modified":"2026-05-02T22:15:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T22:15:09","slug":"landline-service-restored-at-winnipegs-grace-hospital-after-days-long-bell-mts-outage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/643850\/","title":{"rendered":"Landline service restored at Winnipeg&#8217;s Grace Hospital after days-long Bell MTS outage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A Winnipeg hospital&#8217;s phone service has been restored after a days-long outage, Bell MTS says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The company said Saturday landline service has been restored for Grace Hospital and other Manitoba customers following a service disruption that began early Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A notice posted earlier this week on Grace Hospital&#8217;s website advised Winnipeggers it was experiencing intermittent issues with its phone services and that it couldn&#8217;t take some inbound calls.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The notice, which was still up as of 3 p.m. Saturday, said Bell MTS was working to fix the problem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Bell MTS spokesperson David Marcille said in an email Saturday afternoon all customers were now back online, and that the situation at the hospital had been resolved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Marcille said the outage was due to a commercial power outage at a central network facility early Tuesday morning. The spokesperson said customers who may still be having issues should contact the company&#8217;s support team.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Bell MTS did not provide any estimates as to how many customers were impacted by the outage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority did not respond to requests for comment Saturday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A Winnipeg hospital&#8217;s phone service has been restored after a days-long outage, Bell MTS says.
