\n\tBeau Starr, the American actor best known for playing Sheriff Ben Meeker in \u201cHalloween<\/a> 4\u201d and \u201cHalloween 5,\u201d has died, according to TMZ<\/a>. He was 81 years old.<\/p>\n

\n\tTMZ confirmed the death via Beau\u2019s younger brother, Mike, who said the actor died of natural causes at his Vancouver home. Mike described his brother as \u201cvery unique and special.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStarr appeared in 1988\u2019s \u201cHalloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers\u201d as Sheriff Ben Meeker, and he reprised the role a year later in \u201cHalloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers.\u201d He also had a supporting role in Martin Scorsese\u2019s 1990 mob classic \u201cGoodfellas<\/a>\u201d as the abusive father of Ray Liotta\u2019s Henry Hill. His other film credits include \u201cFletch,\u201d \u201cSpeed,\u201d \u201cCinderella Man,\u201d \u201cDevil in a Blue Dress\u201d and \u201cBorn on the Fourth of July.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBeau got his start playing various characters on the Canadian sketch show \u201cBizarre.\u201d He went on to have small roles in other popular series like \u201cPsych,\u201d \u201cKnight Rider,\u201d \u201cThe A-Team,\u201d \u201cMacGyver,\u201d \u201cTJ Hooker,\u201d \u201cThree\u2019s Company,\u201d \u201cRemington Steele,\u201d \u201cThe Fall Guy,\u201d \u201cNight Court,\u201d \u201cMatlock,\u201d \u201cMoonlighting,\u201d \u201cMurder She Wrote\u201d and \u201cNYPD Blue.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBeau\u2019s most significant TV role was on the BBC comedy series \u201cDue South,\u201d which was an odd-couple cop show about a Canadian Mountie who teams up with the Chicago police force. The show ran for four seasons from 1994 to 1999. Beau starred in every episode but one as Lieutenant Harding Welsh. Beau also had a starring role on NBC\u2019s crime drama \u201cTrue Blue,\u201d which ran for one 12-episode season in 1989.
