Game Quest: The Backlog Battler joins a variety of other indie games that have a sneaky peek at your Steam library.<\/p>\n
Its description says: \u201cThis Arcade Hack & Slash answers the age old question: \u2018What if the games you never play could attack you?\u2019 Fight back your backlog! The more you paid, the more damage they will do to you! (just like in real life).\u201d<\/p>\n
The screenshots and gameplay footage are hilarious. It\u2019s not going to win any beauty contests but seeing the player get overrun by the likes of No Man\u2019s Sky and Valheim is such a stupidly good idea.<\/p>\n
Honestly the whole concept is inspired, though it\u2019s obviously best played when with a big library of games to support it. If you\u2019re a new Steam user and have like three games to your name it probably won\u2019t hit in quite the same way\u2026<\/p>\n

What\u2019s especially funny is the weapon choice. It\u2019s a keyboard. You\u2019re smacking away your hostile Steam games with a keyboard. Excellent.<\/p>\n
Game Quest: The Backlog Battler doesn\u2019t just shame you for how many games you own either, it’ll also give you a breakdown of just how long you\u2019ve played them for.<\/p>\n
While you\u2019re fighting crazed copies of your games a screen in the bottom right will tell you how many hours you\u2019ve played them for, how much they cost, who made them and more. It\u2019s the ultimate backlog shaming game.<\/p>\n
At the time of writing the game is in early-access so there\u2019s still time to iron out any bugs and hopefully spruce up the visuals a bit.<\/p>\n
Some different enemy types would also be fun to see. Maybe a tank-like enemy that takes the form of the game you\u2019ve played the least.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s a lot of potential here and if you fancy giving it a go for yourself there\u2019s a free demo <\/a>available in the Steam store.<\/p>\n That said if you\u2019re looking for a more laid-back experience there are other clever titles that take advantage of your least played titles.<\/p>\n One we saw earlier this month turned your Steam library into a collection of digital copies.
