Junto Nakatani by unanimous decision

Inoue retains undisputed super bantamweight championship (WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO titles)
Scores: 115-113, 116-112, 116-112

A fight that started really cagey in the first half, then got really good in the second half. Inoue (33-0, 27 KO) was winning the early rounds without having to do a whole lot, as Nakatani (32-1, 24 KO) looked a little tight, but once Nakatani started taking some risks, it got really interesting and he clawed his way back into this. In short, Nakatani is who we hoped he was, and Inoue is still who we knew he was.

The one bit of debate here is going to center on a clash of heads that cut Nakatani and gave Inoue what looked like a much-needed breather. The fight changed from there. Nakatani struggled with some blood in his eye, and Inoue looked like he got a second win, and Naoya closed the fight strong and secured the win in the final two rounds.

Click here for more on Inoue vs Nakatani!

Yoshiki Takei def. DeKang Wang by majority decision

Scores: 76-76, 77-75, 78-74

A closer and more questionable outcome than anyone probably expected coming in. Takei (12-1, 9 KO) was coming off of a loss and moving up in weight to 122 lbs, and as an eight-rounder this was meant to be a showcase, clearly, as they also chose a fighter in Wang who hadn’t had a fight in two years.

But China’s Wang (9-2, 3 KO) gave this a serious go and had plenty of success. Takei, a former kickboxing champion who won the WBO bantamweight title in 2024, seemed to be trying to address the issues that got him clobbered by Christian Medina last September, but may have overcorrected. He was trying to move more, which makes sense, but it wasn’t smooth or effective movement, and a lot of it really was just scampering around, which tired him out a fair bit, didn’t lead to any better defense — Wang landed plenty of clean shots — and reduced some of his offensive effectiveness.

The trick with trying to make mid-career adjustments that big is to find the balance where you’re not reducing a fighter’s strengths and just giving them new problems, which really felt like what Takei’s changes amounted to today. This was not an impressive win nor one that will have anyone encouraged to think Takei can be a serious player at 122, but he was on this card for a reason. He’s got some star power and could be an opponent for the main event winner, it would make money even if it really doesn’t look remotely competitive on paper.

Takuma Inoue def. Kazuto Ioka by unanimous decision

Inoue retains WBC bantamweight title
Scores: 118-108, 119-107, 120-106

Never was close, as Takuma Inoue dropped the aged Kazuto Ioka two times en route to a clear decision win. The knockdowns came late in the second and early in the third, and Takuma (22-2, 5 KO) was just the better, sharper man all night. Time has definitely caught up to the 37-year-old Ioka (32-5-1, 17 KO), but if he chooses to retire here, he’s done himself very proud and has a Hall of Fame argument. He won world titles in four weight classes and gave it a go trying for a fifth, but time was not on his side in the effort.

It was as good a performance as we’ve seen to date from the 30-year-old Takuma, who has an argument as the best bantamweight in the sport right now. Bad Left Hook unofficially scored the fight 117-109 for Inoue, giving Ioka just a bit more credit than the official judges did, but it came down to shading a couple rounds his way along the way, he never had any momentum in the fight and never felt like he was seriously a threat to win it. This got away from him early and never came back.

How to watch Inoue vs Nakatani

Start time: 5:40 am ETStreaming: DAZN (subscription to Ultimate tier or pay-per-view)Location: Tokyo Dome – Tokyo, Japan

Catch all the action from the Tokyo Dome as Naoya Inoue faces his toughest challenge in Junto Nakatani, live on DAZN!

Stream Inoue vs Nakatani on DAZN!

Full Inoue vs Nakatani fight card

Naoya Inoue vs Junto Nakatani for Inoue’s undisputed super bantamweight championship (WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO titles)Yoshiki Takei vs DeKang Wang (super bantamweights, 8 rounds)Takuma Inoue vs Kazuto Ioka for Inoue’s WBC bantamweight title

[447
703,1147,49,48,45389,82
post-645425","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-boxing","tag-boxing","tag-boxing-results","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-live-boxing-updates","tag-sports
["GET
