A 27-year-old man was critically injured after he was struck by a car early Sunday morning in the Montreal North borough.<\/p>\n
Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call around 12:45 a.m. about the collision near L\u00e9ger Boulevard and Langelier Boulevard.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the man unconscious with injuries to his upper body. He was taken to hospital in critical condition. As of 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning, doctors do not fear for his life.<\/p>\n
According SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant, the driver of the car, a 20-year-old woman was allegedly travelling west on L\u00e9ger Boulevard.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe 27-year-old had just parked his car and was getting out of the vehicle on L\u00e9ger Boulevard,\u201d Brabant said. \u201cAnd it\u2019s at that moment that the collision occurred.\u201d<\/p>\n
The driver remained on the scene. She wasn\u2019t injured, but she was under shock and was met by paramedics.<\/p>\n
According to police, no criminal element is suspected. Alcohol and speeding were not involved, Brabant said.<\/p>\n
