The Mandalorian and Grogu<\/a> is set to release in theaters in just under one month\u2019s time, marking the first time a Star Wars movie has arrived on the big screen since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. Because of that, anticipation is high for the new Jon Favreau-directed project.<\/p>\n

As is the case with virtually every Star Wars project, the trailers (and newer TV spots) for The Mandalorian and Grogu have been thoroughly analyzed by fans of a galaxy far, far away, hoping to get a better understanding of what the new film will entail. Thus far, the trailers have been relatively tight-lipped about the story of the movie.<\/p>\n

However, audiences can get some details from these looks. It\u2019s known that the story will center around Din Djarin and Grogu hunting for an Imperial warlord, and that Rotta the Hutt, the son of Jabba who first appeared in The Clone Wars movie, will play a big role.<\/p>\n

Audiences can also get a look at a few of the planets in the new film, some of which have been confirmed by Favreau himself. There appears to be a mix of pre-established and brand-new worlds in The Mandalorian and Grogu, with a variety of climates at play (snow, rain, desert, etc.). In classic Star Wars fashion, it appears that The Mandalorian and Grogu will be another planet-hopping adventure story.<\/p>\n

Hoth<\/p>\n

The first 18 minutes of The Mandalorian and Grogu<\/a> were shown at CinemaCon last month, and the opening was dominated by an extended action sequence on the snow planet Hoth. Mando and Grogu are seen hunting an Imperial warlord, dodging enemy blaster fire, and even taking down an entire AT-AT.<\/p>\n

Hoth is one of the most iconic planets in all of Star Wars, in large part because of its role as the setting for the opening of Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back. The Rebels have a secret base there, which is then discovered by Darth Vader and the Empire, spawning a massive battle between the two sides.<\/p>\n

As of now, it\u2019s unclear if The Mandalorian and Grogu will return to Hoth after the opening of the film. All of the footage shown in the trailer is in the opening sequence, suggesting that Hoth may be isolated to just the beginning of the film. Regardless, the return of Hoth in live action is a huge moment for Star Wars fans, especially those who grew up with the original trilogy.<\/p>\n

Nevarro<\/p>\n

Nevarro has served as the home base of The Mandalorian<\/a> as a show and, now, The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. Djarin and his small group of Mandalorians were based there in season one before being pushed out by the Imperial Forces. Since then, Djarin has frequently returned to the planet in both season two and season three. In the latter, Djarin is seen living in a ranch style home with Grogu come the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Nevarro can be seen in the trailers for the new film, with Mando and Grogu standing outside their home. Additionally, the villainous Embo was shown briefly in trailers on what appeared to be Nevarro, perhaps showing that the bounty hunter who first debuted in The Clone Wars will pose a great threat to Din Djarin and Grogu.<\/p>\n

In the series, the story kept coming back to Nevarro in one way or another, in part due to the presence of Carl Weathers\u2019 Greef Karga. The crime lord turned mayor cleaned up the streets of the planet, turning it from a hive where bounty hunters and overall shady characters could hang out to a place where kids were running in the streets playing. Karga won\u2019t be in the new movie due to the tragic passing of Carl Weathers, but having Nevarro again is a good way to honor an actor that was such a huge part of the original show.<\/p>\n

Adelphi<\/p>\n

Adelphi is another returning planet in The Mandalorian and Grogu. This is the beach-style world seen in The Mandalorian season 3, the place where New Republic fighters hang out between missions. It\u2019s an Outer Rim base for the New Republic,<\/a> housing X-Wing pilots and other military personnel whose job it is to patrol the outskirts of the known galaxy.<\/p>\n

The Adelphi Base is another planet shown in the opening of the film. After Mando and Grogu return from Hoth, they travel back to Adelphi and regroup with Colonel Ward, played by Sigourney Weaver. Din is then given his next mission by Ward, which sets him off on his journey towards Imperial remnants and Rotta the Hutt.<\/p>\n

Shakari<\/p>\n

Shakari is a brand new planet set to debut in The Mandalorian and Grogu, and is shown throughout the trailers. It\u2019s the world where Din meets Martin Scorcese\u2019s character<\/a> and appears to get in a blaster fight with some kind of enemy. The planet itself looks similar to the underworld of Coruscant, with bright fluorescent lights amidst the dark city streets.<\/p>\n

The planet\u2019s visual similarities to Coruscant meant that many fans believed this to be the capital of the galaxy before writer\/directorJon Favreau gave an interview that revealed some new details about the world. Favreau described Shakari as a planet modeled after prohibition era Chicago, with an underworld presence that hides from the gaze of the New Republic.<\/p>\n

Nal Hutta<\/p>\n

Nal Hutta is arguably the most significant planet in The Mandalorian and Grogu, because of the fact that it\u2019s the home world of Jabba and the rest of the Hutts. The planet has never been shown in live action before, making this a first for the Star Wars franchise. Nal Hutta is seen throughout the trailers for the new movie, with plenty of action sequences set to take place on the planet.<\/p>\n

Din and Grogu are set to go and meet the Hutt twins, first introduced in The Book of Boba Fett, in the new movie. There, the trailers for The Mandalorian and Grogu show that the Hutts threaten Din and his adopted son, and even take off his helmet in the process.
