Bickerstaff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fresh off their first series win in nearly two decades, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/basketball\/nba\/teams\/detroit-pistons\/\" class=\"sn-team-post-link\" target=\"_self\" data-team=\"detroit-pistons\" data-league=\"nba\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Detroit Pistons<\/a> are keeping their head coach around for the long haul. <\/p>\n<p>The Pistons <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Pistons_PR\/status\/2051391419273617688?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">announced<\/a> Monday that they&#8217;ve signed coach J.B. Bickerstaff to an extension.<\/p>\n<p>Terms of the deal were not announced.<\/p>\n<p>Bickerstaff, 47, is in his second year coaching the upstart Pistons, turning them from a 14-win team in the 2023-24 season to a 60-win side this past year. In all, he has a 104-60 record with the Pistons.<\/p>\n<p>He helped the side to its first No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference since the 2006-07 season, as well as its first series win since 2008, when they last made the Eastern Conference Finals.<\/p>\n<p>The Pistons narrowly beat the Orlando Magic in the first round, rallying from a 3-1 series deficit.
