A Winnipeg man who served as a pastor and youth camp director is facing multiple charges after an investigation into the alleged sexual assault and exploitation of a teenager.<\/p>\n
In a news release, the Winnipeg Police Service says its Sex Crimes Unit began investigating in March 2026 after receiving information about an alleged sexual assault involving a youth camp counsellor who was a teenager at the time.<\/p>\n
Police allege that between August 2025 and March 2026, the accused developed a sexual relationship with the teen by grooming and gaining their trust.<\/p>\n
Investigators say the survivor met with the accused on several occasions in private and received sexually explicit material.<\/p>\n
On April 30, 2026, 23-year-old Carson Alexander Parago was charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation, luring a person under 18 by means of telecommunication, and transmitting sexually explicit material to a person under 18.<\/p>\n
He has since been released on conditions authorized by the Crown. None of the allegations have been proven in court.<\/p>\n
