{"id":650073,"date":"2026-05-05T20:45:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T20:45:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/650073\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T20:45:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T20:45:09","slug":"new-electric-vehicle-charging-stations-at-the-montreal-general-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/650073\/","title":{"rendered":"New electric vehicle charging stations at the Montreal General Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of an ongoing commitment to reducing our environmental footprint, the MUHC Parking and Grounds Department, in collaboration with the Projects Office, is proud to announce the installation of new Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the multi-level parking facility at the Montreal General Hospital (MGH).\u00a0The stations will\u00a0operational as of\u00a0Wednesday, May 6.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative supports the transition to cleaner energy while enhancing services for patients, visitors, staff, and physicians who drive electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>According to Jacques Avital from the MUHC Project Office, \u201cIn 2024, 30% of newly registered vehicles were zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs). It was only a matter of time before the Project Office partnered with the Parking and Grounds team to bring EV charging infrastructure to our parking facilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rafal\u00a0Smigiel, Sector Manager, contributes: \u201cQuebec has the largest EV charging network in Canada, accounting for 39% of all infrastructure nationwide. We are pleased to contribute to the transition to electric transportation by offering this service at the MGH.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Department Head\u00a0Caroline\u00a0Nessim\u00a0also\u00a0highlights,\u00a0\u201cThe MUHC is keeping up with\u00a0a\u00a0growing trend among Quebecers by expanding charging options across parking facilities.\u00a0This initiative is\u00a0set\u00a0to grow\u00a0as demand rises.
