{"id":651203,"date":"2026-05-06T08:57:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T08:57:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/651203\/"},"modified":"2026-05-06T08:57:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T08:57:13","slug":"bryson-dechambeau-american-to-focus-on-growing-youtube-channel-if-liv-golf-fails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/651203\/","title":{"rendered":"Bryson DeChambeau: American to focus on growing YouTube channel if LIV Golf fails"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">DeChambeau&#8217;s LIV contract is up at the end of this season and he was looking to sign a lucrative new deal before Saudi Arabia&#8217;s Public Investment Fund (PIF) announced it was set to pull its financial support, with <a href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/articles\/bryson-dechambeau-pushing-500-million-181256156.html\" class=\"ssrcss-18834jl-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reports, external<\/a> suggesting he wants $500m (\u00a3370m) to stay.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The two-time US Open winner said he was &#8220;completely shocked&#8221; by the PIF announcement as he believed it would finance LIV Golf until 2032.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I haven&#8217;t had any communication. And unfortunately, things are moving on in a different direction. Obviously, they wanted to move on,&#8221; he said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">LIV Golf, which caused a major split in 2022 when it started luring star names away from the PGA Tour with the offer of huge pay increases, is now searching to find replacement financial investment under a new independent board.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">DeChambeau, who joined LIV in 2022, turned down the chance to return to the PGA Tour earlier this year under a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/golf\/articles\/ce9yvp50ve8o\" class=\"ssrcss-18834jl-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> returning member programme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;The egos need to get dropped,&#8221; DeChambeau said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Everybody needs to come in with a level-headed playing field, with an opportunistic mindset to grow the game of golf. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;That&#8217;s why I came over here.
