Sky Sports<\/a> has signed a contract extension to broadcast Formula 1<\/a> until 2034 in the UK \u2013 extending their partnership to over two decades.<\/p>\n

F1 was previously aired on free-to-air television in the United Kingdom before Sky won the rights to broadcast every F1 grand prix from the BBC in 2012.<\/p>\n

Sky launched their own dedicated F1 channel at the time, a move since followed with their football, cricket, golf and tennis offerings.<\/p>\n

Sky\u2019s previous deal expired in 2029, but a new partnership has now been announced. Highlights will continue to be available on a free-to-air channel, with Channel 4 holding the current package.<\/p>\n

The new deal also sees an extension to Sky\u2019s contract to broadcast F1 in Italy until 2032.<\/p>\n
