Play at the Cincinnati Open<\/a> has resumed after an approximately 45-minute Tuesday rain delay at the ATP Masters 1000 event, where Francisco Comesana<\/a> returned to court to complete a nailbiting third-round victory. <\/p>\n

Comesana saved three match points \u2014 one before the rain delay and two after \u2014 when serving at 5-4 in the deciding set against Reilly Opelka<\/a>. Home favourite Opelka then called a medical timeout before Comesana went on to complete a 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-5 comeback triumph. <\/p>\n

The No. 2 in the PIF ATP Rankings Carlos Alcaraz<\/a>\u2019s third-round clash with Hamad Medjedovic<\/a> is the next match scheduled on P & G Center Court, where Toronto champion and home favourite Ben Shelton<\/a> will later take on Roberto Bautista Agut<\/a>. <\/p>\n

On Court 3, ninth seed Andrey Rublev<\/a> led 21st seed Alexei Popyrin<\/a> 6-7(5), 7-6(5), 2-1 when the rain arrived, with Australian Popyrin serving at 30\/30. Third seed Alexander Zverev<\/a> later faces Brandon Nakashima<\/a> on Grandstand. Zverev leads Nakashima 4-0 in the pair’s Lexus ATP Head2Head series. <\/p>\n
