Bonnie Tyler has been rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.<\/p>\n
The \u201cTotal Eclipse of the Heart\u201d singer, 74, was admitted to a hospital in Portugal for emergency intestinal surgery, according to a statement on her official website<\/a> shared Wednesday.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are very sorry to announce that Bonnie has been admitted to hospital in Faro, Portugal, where she has a home, for emergency intestinal surgery,\u201d it read.<\/p>\n Bonnie Tyler (pictured here in February) was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. Getty Images<\/p>\n \u201cThe surgery went well and she is now recuperating,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cWe know that all of her family, friends, and fans will be concerned about this news and will be wishing her well for a full and swift recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n Tyler\u2019s reps did not immediately respond to Page Six\u2019s request for further comment.<\/p>\n The Welsh singer first achieved fame in the late \u201970s with hits like \u201cLost in France\u201d and \u201cIt\u2019s a Heartache.\u201d<\/p>\n However, it wasn\u2019t until 1983\u2019s \u201cTotal Eclipse of the Sun\u201d and her record \u201cFaster Than the Speed of Night\u201d that Tyler reached global superstardom.<\/p>\n The singer\u2019s surgery was said to have \u201cwent well\u201d and Tyler (pictured here performing at the Grammys in 1984) was recuperating.
