Watch On <\/a> That clarion call for kindred spirits became Perpetual Paradox, a ferocious new outfit, hellbent on restoring the primal thrill of the riff. Formed in 2021, the quintet \u2013 Adrian Caucelo (vocals), Oliver Miles and Jorge (guitars), Andr\u00e9 Lu\u00eds De Barros (bass) and Harry Cook (drums) \u2013 deal in blistering metalcore<\/a> that prizes hooks and precision over gimmickry. But beneath the technical muscle and hair-blowing velocity lies something deeply personal.<\/p>\n You may like<\/p>\n Latest Videos From \u201cOne of my best friends died by suicide,\u201d says Jorge, \u201cand I told Adrian what I\u2019d experienced and asked if he could write lyrics to tell that story. It would mean the world to me.\u201d<\/p>\n Every single member has been through something heavy.<\/p>\n Jorge Nunes<\/p>\n That raw honesty runs through Deathwish, also the title of the band\u2019s debut record. From top to bottom, these are songs borne from loss, fear, and the hope that someone else might recognise themselves in the wreckage.<\/p>\n \u201cEvery single member has been through something heavy,\u201d he adds. \u201cEvery song represents something we\u2019ve been through, and people can relate to that.\u201d<\/p>\n Deathwish follows a rapid evolution through three EPs \u2013 Endless Cycle, Monophobia and Condemnation, each one a deliberate step up.<\/p>\n \u201cWe know music is completely subjective,\u201d says Oliver. \u201cBut a lot of what\u2019s out there now leans hard on downtuned chugs and noise pedals.\u201d<\/p>\n Instead, Deathwish reaches for riffs that carry tension, release and catharsis.
