The doors have been opened at a new advanced manufacturing facility that\u2019s bringing 170 jobs to Brampton.<\/p>\n
The new 148,000-square-foot facility is Socomec Canada\u2019s third in Brampton and officially opened on Thursday with a ribbon cutting at 201 Westcreek Blvd.<\/p>\n
Socomec manufactures high-efficiency transformers and power distribution units (PDUs) for data centres, hospitals and other high-demand environments, and now employs some 500 workers in Brampton.<\/p>\n
The City of Brampton says Socomec\u2019s \u201ccutting edge technology\u201d will help toward \u201cstrengthening Brampton\u2019s position as a destination for globally competitive, engineering-driven businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBy supporting local production of globally in-demand technology, the facility advances Brampton\u2019s role in the energy, infrastructure and advanced manufacturing supply chain,\u201d the city says. \u201cThese products also support the city\u2019s climate and energy goals by helping reduce energy waste and improve efficiency in major facilities.\u201d<\/p>\n
Socomec was recognized during Brampton\u2019s 2026 State of the City address as one of 10 companies honoured for their \u201csignificant expansion, highlighting the company\u2019s role in driving economic growth and job creation in Brampton.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSocomec\u2019s growth not only supports job creation but also strengthens our local supply chain and contributes to a more resilient and future-ready economy,\u201d Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown said in a statement.<\/p>\n
The company\u2019s other Brampton facilities are located at 8985 Airport Rd. and 5 Parkshore Dr.<\/p>\n
