{"id":654358,"date":"2026-05-07T19:32:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T19:32:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/654358\/"},"modified":"2026-05-07T19:32:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T19:32:14","slug":"body-found-washed-up-on-river-bank-in-montreals-pierrefonds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/654358\/","title":{"rendered":"Body found washed up on river bank in Montreal&#8217;s Pierrefonds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A body was found washed up on the bank of Rivi\u00e8re des Prairies, behind a house, in Montreal\u2019s Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at around 10:35 a.m. reporting the presence of a body at the water\u2019s edge near Gouin West and Saint-Jean Boulevards.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Image-2026-05-07T132854.354.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-482581\" style=\"width:645px;height:auto\"  \/>Quebec Coroner\u2019s office will investigate after a body was found on a river bank behind a house in Montreal\u2019s Pierrefonds borough on May 7, 2026 (Harrison Goldberg, CityNews)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon arrival, police officers located a non-responsive body on the river bank,\u201d SPVM spokesperson Ann-Sophie Simard said.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation will be referred to the Quebec Coroner\u2019s office to determine the cause of death and the identity of the individual.<\/p>\n<p>In March, two teens fell through the ice into the river near Jacques-Bizard Boulevard in L\u2019\u00cele-Bizard\u2013Sainte-Genevi\u00e8ve, west of where the body was found Thursday.
