Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini were allegedly hesitant about having photos taken when they reportedly rented a private boat together<\/a> in Tennessee five years ago.<\/p>\n

The New England Patriots head coach and former Athletic reporter \u2014 who were spotted hugging and holding hands at an Arizona<\/a> resort in March \u2014 rented a boat for two to three hours in Putnam County in June 2021, a source with direct knowledge of the excursion\u00a0told TMZ<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The outlet also obtained documents showing that Vrabel and Russini, who were reportedly the only people on the boat, had both signed a waiver before climbing aboard the vessel.<\/p>\n

The pair rented a boat for a few hours in Tennessee in June 2021, a source with direct knowledge\u00a0told TMZ. TMZSports.com<\/p>\n

Vrabel and Russini were \u201ccautious about photos being taken,\u201d per TMZ, and Russini reportedly refused to take photos with staff.<\/p>\n

As for the NFL coach, he allowed a single photo to be taken with the caveat that it wouldn\u2019t be posted or shared publicly.<\/p>\n

At the time of the private boat trip, Russini was around seven months pregnant with her and her husband Kevin Goldschmidt\u2019s first child.<\/p>\n

The pair, who married in September 2020, went on to welcome their first son in August 2021. They named him Michael.<\/p>\n

Reps for Vrabel and Russini did not immediately return Page Six\u2019s requests for comment.<\/p>\n

TMZ\u2019s report that the pro football coach and former ESPN reporter rented a private boat together in June 2021 came weeks after Page Six obtained exclusive photos\u00a0of the pair\u00a0embracing, holding hands and lounging by the pool<\/a>\u00a0at an exclusive resort in Sedona.<\/p>\n

Vrabel and Russini, who both denied any wrongdoing after the pics went viral, claimed that they were at the resort with a group of friends.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe photos don\u2019t represent the group of six people who were hanging out during the day,\u201d Russini also told us at the time. \u201cLike most journalists in the NFL, reporters interact with sources away from stadiums and other venues.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was later revealed that the Athletic\u00a0sidelined Russini and launched an investigation<\/a>\u00a0into her conduct. She ultimately\u00a0resigned from the outlet<\/a>\u00a0on April 14.<\/p>\n

Vrabel, meanwhile, didn\u2019t\u00a0address the bombshell photo scandal<\/a>\u00a0until a few days before the NFL Draft last month.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had some difficult conversations with people that I care about \u2014 my family, the organization, the coaches, the players,\u201d he told a roomful of reporters. \u201cThose have been positive and productive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vrabel then\u00a0announced that he would temporarily step away to \u201cseek counseling\u201d<\/a>\u00a0so he could return to the Patriots with a \u201cstronger resolve.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the scandal took another turn when Page Six obtained new photos last month of Vrabel and Russini getting close and\u00a0kissing inside a New York City bar<\/a>\u00a0in March 2020.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were kissing and they were all over each other,\u201d an eyewitness told us before noting that the NFL coach \u2013 who married his wife, Jen, in 1999 \u2013 \u201chad a ring on.\u201d<\/p>\n
