\n\tKelly Clarkson<\/a> wasn\u2019t mentioned in an obituary for her late ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock<\/a>, who passed away on August 7. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe obituary reveals that Blackstock, 48, was surrounded by loved ones when he died at home, ending her 3-year battle with cancer, alongside a touching summary of his life and career. \u201cTo know Brandon was to love Brandon,\u201d part of the tribute read<\/a>. \u201cHe was a strikingly handsome man\u2026 and if you failed to notice \u2026 he was always happy to remind you!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe obituary mentions Blackstock and Clarkson\u2019s two children, River Rose and Remington, who were born during the couple\u2019s seven-year marriage, as well as Blackstock\u2019s older children, Savannah and Seth, from his first marriage to Melissa Ashworth. Ashworth was not mentioned. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to mentions of his parents and siblings, former stepmother Reba McEntire<\/a> also got a shoutout. McEntire was married to Blackstock\u2019s father, Narvel Blackstock, from 1989 until 2015. Narvel served as McEntire\u2019s manager and the two share a son, Shelby. <\/p>\n

\n\tBlackstock\u2019s obituary also revealed, for the first time, that he was in a relationship after separating from Clarkson in 2020. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBrandon, along with his beautiful and loving partner in life and business, Brittney Marie Jones<\/a>, started building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana,\u201d it reads.<\/p>\n

\n\tClarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock<\/a> in June 2020, leading to a tense battle over their Montana ranch, which Clarkson was eventually awarded while agreeing to give Blackstock 5% ownership. Clarkson also sued Blackstock, claiming he unlawfully procured business deals for her as her talent manager. That case was settled in 2023 when Blackstock was ordered to pay her $2.6 million. <\/p>\n

\n\tClarkson has yet to address her ex\u2019s passing, but did step back from her hosting gig at The Kelly Clarkson Show<\/a> and other work engagements over the past year while Blackstock\u2019s health was deteriorating behind the scenes. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe day before Blackstock\u2019s passing, the singer revealed his illness while announcing that she was postponing her Las Vegas residency. \u201cUnfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,\u201d she\u00a0wrote in an Instagram post<\/a>\u00a0at the time. \u201cWhile I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children\u2019s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them. I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n
