REGINA \u2013 Flooding in Saskatchewan has displaced hundreds of residents while also damaging homes and roads.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Prince Albert Grand Council says 820 people from Red Earth Cree Nation and Shoal Lake Cree Nation in northern Saskatchewan remain out of their homes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chief Brian Hardlotte says water is beginning to recede but he is urging residents to stay vigilant as the situation may change.<\/p>\n

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency says 35 communities have issued states of emergency, up from 15 last week.<\/p>\n

The agency says some homes have been affected and there are 11 highway closures.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Online videos show the Carrot River breaching its banks and damaging a golf course in the town 290 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOur people are away from their homes, \u00a0their communities, and their families. That weighs heavily on all of us,\u201d Hardlotte said in a news release Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be here \u2014 monitoring, communicating and making sure every evacuated member has what they \u00a0need until it is safe to return.\u201d<\/p>\n
