WESTFIELD, Ind. \u2013 The 2025 LIV Golf Individual Championship will be decided at this week\u2019s regular-season finale, LIV Golf Indianapolis<\/a>, with current season-long points leader Joaquin Niemann<\/a> hoping to clinch the title against defending Individual champion Jon Rahm<\/a> at The Club at Chatham Hills.<\/p>\n

Niemann, the Torque GC<\/a> captain, enters this week with 208.43 points, thanks almost entirely to his five tournament wins (worth 40 points each), a league record for a single season.<\/p>\n

Rahm, the Legion XIII<\/a> captain, has 196.16 points after his runner-up finish Sunday at LIV Golf Chicago when he lost in a three-man playoff to Dean Burmester<\/a>. Rahm has yet to win a tournament this season but has built his point total on impressive consistency, with three runner-up finishes and nothing worse than his T11 in Dallas. Every other result has been inside the top 10.<\/p>\n

That means Niemann will tee Friday leading Rahm by 12.27 points. For Rahm to successfully defend his title, he must find a way to finish with more than 12.27 points than Niemann.<\/p>\n

According to LIV Golf\u2019s data analysts, Niemann has a 58.7% chance of winning the title, leaving Rahm with a 41.3% chance. No other players have a mathematical chance.<\/p>\n

Here are the scenarios for where Rahm must finish in order to pass Niemann in the final points standings. Please note that these scenarios do not take into consideration points distribution for ties.<\/p>\n

SCENARIOS<\/p>\n

If Niemann finishes 1st or 2nd, he automatically wins the championship
\nIf Niemann finishes 3rd or 4th, then Rahm must win the tournament to win the championship
\nIf Niemann finishes 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th, then Rahm must finish either 1st or 2nd to win the championship
\nIf Niemann finishes 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th or 13th, then Rahm must finish 3rd or better to win the championship
\nIf Niemann finishes 14th or 15th, then Rahm must finish 4th or better to win the championship
\nIf Niemann finishes 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th or 20th, then Rahm must finish 5th or better to win the championship
\nIf Niemann finishes 21st, 22nd, 23rd or 24th, then Rahm must finish 6th or better to win the championship
\nIf Niemann finishes outside the points at 25th or worse, then Rahm must finish 7th or better to win the championship<\/p>\n

AVERAGE POSITION FINISH<\/p>\n

Niemann\u2019s average finish position in the first 12 tournaments this season is 13.88. A solo 13th is worth six points; solo 14th is worth five points.<\/p>\n

Rahm\u2019s average finish position is 5.58. Solo 5th is worth 16 points and solo 6th is worth 14 points.<\/p>\n

If those averages hold, then Niemann would win the Individual Championship by approximately three points.<\/p>\n

POINTS DISTRIBUTION<\/p>\n

Here are the points distributed for each individual result at regular-season tournaments.<\/p>\n

In case of ties, the points are added for the positions involved and distributed equally.
