Police have charged a Brampton man with drug trafficking and other offences after leading officers of a pursuit in Niagara Falls.<\/p>\n
The incident happened on April 13 when an officer tried to stop a vehicle on Valley Way, the Niagara Regional Police Service says.<\/p>\n
But the driver of the vehicle didn\u2019t stop for police and fled the scene, investigators say.<\/p>\n
Officers managed to locate and arrest the male suspect after a short foot pursuit, and police say the man was a prohibited driver.<\/p>\n
A search of the vehicle also turned up nearly 13 grams of suspected cocaine with a street value of over $1,500.<\/p>\n
Niagara police say Jevon Brown, 33, of Brampton, has been charged with flight from police officer, five counts of operation while prohibited, possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), and have care or control of vehicle with cannabis readily available.<\/p>\n
Police say the vehicle has been impounded for 45 days, and that the accused attended a bail hearing on April 14.<\/p>\n
