One week after a dejected Kaden Honeycutt said he needed to learn how to win races in the NASCAR<\/a> Craftsman Truck Series, he did just that.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Honeycutt won Friday’s Bully Hill Vineyards 176 at Watkins Glen in overtime, passing road course ace Connor Zilisch for the lead on the final restart and holding on for his first career win in his 67th start.<\/p>\n

An emotional Honeycutt teared up over the radio on the cool down lap as he made his way back to the frontstretch where a throng of cheering fans awaited him.<\/p>\n

“It’s amazing,” a choked-up Honeycutt told Fox Sports. “Thank you Toyota, this whole 11 group. I can’t believe I just won on a road course. The restart, I think Zilisch missed a shift a little bit coming off of [turn] 7. As soon as I got the lead, I pulled my visor up and was full-on focused after that.”<\/p>\n

The victory gave Honeycutt a Friday sweep at Watkins Glen, as he also won the ARCA Menards Series race at the New York road course earlier in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

True to his word, Honeycutt did as he promised in a social media post by shot-gunning a beer in front of the cheering crowd in celebration.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Zilisch was the leader coming to the final restart after both Ross Chastain and Gio Ruggiero were penalized with restart violations on prior restarts.<\/p>\n

Zilisch finished runner-up, with Shane van Gisbergen, Stage 1 winner Daniel Hemric and Chandler Smith rounding out the top five. AJ Allmendinger, polesitter Brent Crews, Mini Tyrrell, Brenden Queen and Connor Mosack completing the top 10.\u00a0<\/p>\n
