Kala Salon presents \u2018Colours of Nepal\u2019, a debut solo exhibition of artist Deepak Auji, from May 8.<\/p>\n
Auji is a young contemporary and visual artist. In this exhibit, he has used a vibrant yet soft colour palette to reflect the warmth of Nepal\u2019s landscapes. <\/p>\n
The paintings do not dwell on grand or loud moments around us; they just depict the serenity of nature. <\/p>\n
From temples and stupas to village huts, the works capture the mundanity of life that is often overlooked. Through his paintings, it feels as if the artist himself is trying to show his perspective on the ordinary experiences of life.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn this series of delicate watercolours, Deepak Auji, a thoughtful artist, has documented the minutiae of Nepali life, from rural scenes to urban and sacred landscapes, showing us that even the humblest of subjects is worthy of the canvas,\u201d notes the exhibition\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cWatercolour is not as easy to use as other media like oil and acrylic. Although the sceneries might look simple, painting through this medium is much more unpredictable and fluid,\u201d says Sophia L Pand\u00e9, the founding director of the gallery.
