The Arizona Cardinals<\/a> have made two noteworthy moves at the running back position this offseason.<\/p>\n

The NFC West franchise signed former Atlanta Falcons<\/a> RB Tyler Allgeier in March and drafted Notre Dame star RB Jeremiyah Love with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

As a result, the Cardinals may feel inclined to move on from their 31-year Pro Bowler James Conner, seeing as though their RB room is relatively crowded at this stage of the offseason. ESPN\u2019s Mike Clay <\/a>believes that the Dallas Cowboys<\/a>, Washington Commanders<\/a>, and the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> are three logical landing spots for the Pittsburgh product.<\/p>\n

\u201cJames Conner, Alvin Kamara, and Trey Benson need new homes,\u201d ESPN\u2019s Mike Clay wrote on X\/Twitter last Wednesday. \u201cI could see fits with the following teams: Commanders, (Indianapolis) Colts<\/a>, Cowboys, (Cincinnati) Bengals<\/a>, (Green Bay) Packers<\/a>, Chiefs, and (Cleveland) Browns<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Considering the Cowboys need to find a backup running back to assist Javonte Williams, the Commanders didn\u2019t have a single 1,000-yard rusher a season ago, and Patrick Mahomes nearly rushed for more yards than Isiah Pacheco despite his unimpressive 4.80-second 40-yard dash time, it makes sense why Clay is under the impression that the three franchises should be interested in trading for Conner.<\/p>\n

Dallas already possesses a dynamic duo at wide receiver with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, so why not use that same blueprint to help them boast one of the most formidable rushing attacks in the league?<\/p>\n

Although Connor suffered a season-ending foot injury during Week 3 of the 2025-26 campaign, he underwent successful surgery and should be good to go by the time the new season arrives. James has recorded 3763 rushing yards, 1,292 receiving yards, and 48 total touchdowns in his first five seasons with the Cardinals.<\/p>\n

If the Cowboys don\u2019t like their chances of landing Kamara and aren\u2019t intrigued by Benson\u2019s skill set, they should turn their attention to Connor on the RB trade market.<\/p>\n
