Martin Short<\/a> is speaking candidly about the devastating loss of his daughter, Katherine<\/a>, revealing she battled serious mental health struggles for years before her death.<\/p>\n

In an emotional interview with “CBS News Sunday Morning”, the comedy legend described the tragedy as \u201ca nightmare for the family,\u201d while reflecting on the painful reality of severe mental illness.<\/p>\n

Short explained that he\u2019s come to view mental health conditions the same way people understand physical diseases like cancer — something he knows personally after losing his wife, Nancy Dolman, to ovarian cancer in 2010.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to Short, his daughter struggled for years with borderline personality disorder and other mental health challenges, fighting through them for as long as she could.<\/p>\n
