{"id":663398,"date":"2026-05-12T01:01:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T01:01:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/663398\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T01:01:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T01:01:08","slug":"young-moose-trapped-in-fence-saved-by-opp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/663398\/","title":{"rendered":"Young moose trapped in fence saved by OPP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two Manitoulin police officers helped a young moose in need on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Ontario Provincial Police say the pair were on patrol\u00a0along Highway 6 North of the Little Current Swing Bridge when they spotted a moose caught in a wire fence.<\/p>\n<p>OPP say the animal was lying on the ground and wasn\u2019t able to free itself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUsing the tools they had on hand, and a bit of teamwork, the officers carefully cut the fence around the moose&#8217;s legs and were able to free the moose without injury,\u201d said police in a news release.<\/p>\n<p>The moose took a little time to recover, then got up and went on its way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSometimes policing brings unexpected challenges, and in some cases, that occasionally includes lending a hand to a moose in need,\u201d police added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Two Manitoulin police officers helped a young moose in need on Saturday.
