INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. \u2013 The No. 6\/7 Washington University in St. Louis golf team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships, the NCAA announced on Monday evening. Consistently ranked in the Top 10 nationally this year, the Bears have won three tournaments – the Centre College Classic, the WashU Spring Invite and Illinois Wesleyan’s Kathy Niepagan Spring Fling. Elevating scholar-champions requires resources beyond the institutional budget. Through the\u00a0W Club, generous alumni, parents, and friends provide unrestricted support that is essential to the extraordinary WashU student-athlete experience\u2014and the ongoing growth and development of the department. \nTwenty-six conferences earned automatic qualifiers to the championships, with eight teams picking up at-large bids.
\n\u00a0
\nThe championships will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently. Following 36 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and the top six individuals not on one of those teams to compete in the final two rounds . In the team competition, the low four scores from each team for each day will count in the team’s total score.\u00a0

\nThe championships will be conducted May 19-22 at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, California. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges will serve as host.
