{"id":664648,"date":"2026-05-12T15:06:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T15:06:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/664648\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T15:06:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T15:06:08","slug":"flyers-owen-tippett-missed-second-round-due-to-internal-bleeding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/664648\/","title":{"rendered":"Flyers&#8217; Owen Tippett missed second round due to internal bleeding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"sn-player-post-link\" data-player=\"55ef6577-b851-41ea-b8fc-dc89749a2ea6\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/hockey\/nhl\/players\/owen-tippett\/55ef6577-b851-41ea-b8fc-dc89749a2ea6\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Owen Tippett<\/a> said he sustained an internal bleeding issue that prevented him from suiting up for the team&#8217;s second-round series against the Carolina Hurricanes, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/flyers\/news\/injury-update-owen-tippett\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">per a team release<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The ailment occurred during the Flyers&#8217; first-round series win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.<\/p>\n<p>Tippett said in the statement that he is &#8220;making progress and feeling better every day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Despite being cleared to travel and skate with the team at certain practices, things did not progress at a pace that I hoped for or would allow me to safely continue playing,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The 27-year-old added that he expects to be fully recovered in time for training camp in September.<\/p>\n<p>Tippett, of Peterborough, Ont., played 81 regular-season games for Philadelphia, tallying 28 goals and 23 assists.
