THE CANADIAN PRESS\/Spencer Colby<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"193\">A Brampton truck driver is facing a stunt driving charge after allegedly travelling more than 40 km\/h over the speed limit in Ramara Township near Orillia.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"195\" data-end=\"429\">According to the OPP, officers with the Central Region TIME Team were on patrol on County Road 47 near Sideroad 5 on May 11 when they spotted a commercial motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"431\" data-end=\"504\">Police said the vehicle was clocked at 103 km\/h in a posted 60 km\/h zone.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"506\" data-end=\"612\">As a result of the investigation, Lovedeep Singh Wirring, 31, of Brampton, was charged with stunt driving.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"614\" data-end=\"726\">Police said the commercial vehicle was impounded for 14 days and the driver\u2019s licence was suspended for 30 days.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"728\" data-end=\"957\">The OPP is reminding motorists that excessive speed and aggressive driving pose serious risks to everyone on the road and says officers will continue proactive enforcement efforts to improve road safety across the region.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"1105\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Anyone who witnesses dangerous driving is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>        <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insauga.com\/editorial-guidelines\" class=\"editorial-guidelines-link d-block mb-4\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n            INsauga&#8217;s Editorial Standards and Policies        <\/a><\/p>\n<p>\tWIN A $100 GIFT CARD<\/p>\n<p>Subscribe to INsauga\u2019s daily email newsletter for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) patch is seen in Ottawa, on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024.
