Just to speculate on what could have done, what could have been different doesn\u2019t really make much sense,\u201d Rahm said.<\/p>\n \u201cI could do that with about 15 different golf shots on the golf course every single day,\u201d he said. \u201cIf I lived my life like that as a golfer, I would be a very pessimistic person.\u201d<\/p>\n Following news that LIV\u2019s Saudi funding will be pulled at season\u2019s end<\/a>, Rahm and others who chose to leave the PGA Tour are left wondering what will happen to the breakaway tour and where they will be teeing it up as early as next year.<\/p>\n \u201cOut of the few talents I have in my life, fixing a business is not one of them. Luckily, I\u2019m decent at it,\u201d he added. \u201cPeople in charge of LIV, whose job I do not envy for a second \u2026 It\u2019s their job to fix it.\u201d<\/p>\n Would Rahm be welcomed back to PGA Tour?<\/p>\n Rahm said he has faith that LIV will come up with a plan to continue. Truth is, it will be tough sell to attract investors to a company that couldn\u2019t make it work after five years with unlimited funds. The more likely scenario is Rahm and others will soon be looking to return to a golf ecosystem they played a role in trying to disrupt.<\/p>\n Of all the players who left the PGA Tour, Rahm\u2019s departure was the most shocking and it would not be surprising if hard feelings remain. The Spaniard famously pledged his allegiance to the American tour and said that $400 million wouldn\u2019t change his lifestyle, before changing his mind and bolting for LIV at a time when it seemed the balance of power in the war for golf\u2019s future was rather precarious.<\/p>\n Unlike Bryson DeChambeau whose unique personality always made him seem a bit of an outsider on the PGA Tour, Rahm would go out of his way to detail his fascination with the traditions of the game.<\/p>\n Advertisement 4<\/p>\n This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below.<\/p>\n Article content<\/p>\n In press conferences ahead of big tournaments, he would constantly reference past champions and highlight his knowledge of golf history, a history he seemed obsessed with adding his name to.<\/p>\n What Rahm clearly wasn\u2019t prepared for was spending the past three years wandering in golf\u2019s wilderness, unnoticed by many as he won LIV Golf\u2019s individual title two years in a row.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not going to get into specifics. I will just say I feel like the way I\u2019ve played, including the last three years, I would say I feel like I\u2019m \u2014 I should be \u2014 I feel like I\u2019m playing better than the ranking I have right now,\u201d Rahm said.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not going to get into the details of what number I would be because I don\u2019t want to insult any player who doesn\u2019t play fantastic golf, but I feel like higher than I am right now, that would be fair.\u201d<\/p>\n Rahm recently settled a dispute with the DP World Tour, agreeing to pay fines that will restore his European Ryder Cup eligibility and allow him to play in select DP World Tour events this year.<\/p>\n Advertisement 5<\/p>\n This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below.<\/p>\n Article content<\/p>\n What\u2019s at stake this week for Rahm?<\/p>\n A win this week at the PGA Championship would give Masters and U.S. Open winner Rahm three of the four legs of the career grand slam, and propel him back into the historic trajectory that he chose, unwittingly or not, to leave behind three years ago.<\/p>\n A win at Aronimink would also make Rahm the first Spaniard to win the PGA Championship, the only major not won by Rahm or his fellow countrymen.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is something that is in my mind,\u201d he said of being the first Spaniard to win this championship. \u201cEven though every major is extremely special in that way, to tie it all together with the greats of the past of Spain would be quite unique.\u201d<\/p>\n Read More<\/p>\n Judge orders Tiger Woods’ prescription records turned over to prosecutors<\/p>\n![\"Jon](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/0513-jon-rahm-golf-pga.jpg\")
